Film review- The last song

Where Ronnie and Will first meet.

I recently watched a film called the last song, starring Miley Cyrus and Liam hemsworth. The film is a romance, and is set in Georgia, USA. The film is based about a rebellious young, teenage girl who returns to the beach to reconnect with her father. Ronnie (played by Miley Cyrus) is rather mysterious. The first scenes of the film, is of her walking around a beach by herself. Miserable, angered and emotional, she strolls around for something to do. There is a boys volleyball game happening, and incidentally, the ball hits Ronnie's milkshake which spills all down her. This is probably my favorite part in the entire film, as its where Ronnie and will first meet. I also think this incident is very stereotypical. I feel that in films, the guy or the girl usually bumps into the other, and they then lock eyes,- or you could say "love at first sight".  Ronnie then says "its okay" in a sarcastic voice and walks off. Sodden in strawberry milkshake, Ronnie has to buy a new top. She meets a girl named Blaze, who is shown to be a bit of a bad girl that you wouldn't want to mix with. She is known for stealing as she indicates to Ronnie to steal the shirt, as she mentions that it was too expensive. This scene, i feel is a key part in the play, as it shows  the contrast in characters, and also portrays that Ronnie's character is more positive, than negative. Blaze's appearance helps convey her character. She is wearing dark eyeliner, and has orange/ginger toned hair. She also has rings with skulls and crosses on them. This indicates a Gothic and emo look. Stereo typically, goths and emos are renown to carry out "criminal" or "illegal" actions, so the director has used this to his advantage of conveying Blaze as a bad character.
Overall, i think the film was good, and i enjoyed watching the relationship between Will and Ronnie progress throughout the film. I only selected two clips from the film to write about, as i feel these were the most important. I enjoyed watching the characters, and how the directors/producers portray them in the film. Out of ten i would give the film a 6.5.
